Senior Manager, Supply Chain | Peloton Interactive

An award-winning supply chain practitioner and thought leader with four years of experience across the U.S., U.K., and Canada in Fortune 500 companies and tech startups, Karan Agrawal currently serves as senior manager, supply chain at Peloton. He has led multiple strategic supply chain initiatives, focused primarily on manufacturing and sourcing with multimillion-dollar scale and impact. Prior to Peloton, he worked at Dell, where he played a critical role in its supply chain digital transformation journey and strengthened the corporate brand through numerous external academic and industry partnerships. Passionate about building diverse communities from the ground up, Agrawal initiated the American Production and Inventory Control Society, or APICS, at Georgia Tech, launched an innovative TED-like storytelling platform at Dell called “Talks @ Dell,” and recently founded Toronto’s first supply chain community.

Favorite Tech Memory: Emceeing the largest cultural show on campus in front of 1,200 attendees at the Ferst Center for the Arts.

Musheer Ahmed is the CEO and founder of Codoxo (formerly named FraudScope), which helps make the healthcare system more affordable and effective. Codoxo uses patented AI technology to identify problems and suspicious activity earlier than traditional techniques can, which helps ensure scarce healthcare dollars go to real patient care. Ahmed developed this technology as a part of his doctoral dissertation at Georgia Tech. A report by the JASON advisory group, a scientific advisory panel to the U.S. government, reinforced that his doctoral research tackled some of the biggest challenges within the nation’s emerging health data infrastructure.

CEO & Cofounder | SheKab

Hira Batool Rizvi is the cofounder and CEO of SheKab. A Fulbright Scholar and Acumen Fellow, Batool Rizvi believes in making a positive impact in the world by using her background in engineering, technology, and policy. In 2015, she returned to Pakistan to solve daily mobility issues for women in her city, Islamabad. In 2017, she launched SheKab, which became Pakistan’s first subscription-based monthly carpool service for working women. SheKab is digitalizing the decades-old community-based carpooling services using a web-based platform and a smartphone app designed and developed by women. The app is used to connect registered riders with vetted and verified partner drivers for a safe and affordable commute.

Favorite Tech Memory: We renovated the sitting room in the Ivan Allen College, calling the coffee area the “caffeination station.” It had free snacks and coffee that anyone could restock.

Whitney N. Blanco has worked in global health, public policy, and real estate development for major companies and international organizations. She co-developed the World Health Organization’s R&D Blueprint, supported the expansion of the Universal Health Coverage Initiative on the African continent, and has guided multi-sectoral and urban development within health emergencies. Combining her passions, she now conducts real estate development to build beautiful, holistic, affordable communities. Blanco holds her bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a PhD in Public and Urban Policy from The New School. She enjoys cooking, dancing, and hosting parties.

Favorite Tech Memory: In Professor Bill Todd’s class, he introduced us to global health and case studies. It set the direction for my life.

Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering | North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Ashley C. Brown is an associate professor of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a bachelor’s from Clemson University in Biosystems Engineering and a PhD from Georgia Tech in Bioengineering. Her research focuses on developing novel materials for a variety of biomedical applications, including augmentation of hemostasis, enhanced wound healing, evaluation and modulation of cellular mechanotransduction, and development of biosynthetic constructs for regenerative medicine. Due to her interest in translating biomaterials into clinical use, Brown founded SelSym Biotech, Inc., a start-up focused on development of hemostatic and pro-healing therapeutics.

Favorite Tech Memory: My favorite memory at Georgia Tech was running the Pi Mile 5K Road Race for the first time.

Chris Carter has 15 years of experience in portfolio management, leadership, instruction, team building, and people development worldwide. Through Georgia Tech Professional Education, he became a Project Management Professional (PMP) & Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP). As chief engineer for Toyota Motor North America, Connected Technologies division, Carter is responsible for portfolio management for all Toyota and Lexus new model infotainment systems, including various technology life cycle management activities. He facilitates a team, leading tech strategy, market research, and global tech life cycle planning. During his tenure, he also worked abroad in Japan for Lexus International, leading midsize segments model years for RX, NX, and ES. Carter is also the academic program director over Project Management and Professor of the Practice candidate at Georgia Tech.

Favorite Tech Memory: Junior’s Grill. I used to have the French Toast Special and chicken finger basket every week.

Jun Chen is currently an assistant professor and Hellman Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech, followed by postdoctoral studies at Stanford University. His group research focuses on soft bioelectronics. Among his many accolades are the V.M. Watanabe Excellence in Research Award, UCLA Society of Hellman Fellows, BBRF Young Investigator Award, ACS PMSE Young Investigator Award, Okawa Foundation Research Award, Advanced Materials Rising Star, Materials Today Rising Star Award, ACS Nano Rising Stars Lectureship Award, and Chem. Soc. Rev. Emerging Investigator Award. He is an invitee to the Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering of the National Academy of Engineering.

Favorite Tech Memory: I rode a roller coaster for the first time in my life at the 2013 Georgia Tech Night at Six Flags.

Stephen Crooke leads the Vaccine Immunology Team in the Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where his team supports global and international disease surveillance and researches the development of new vaccines and diagnostics. He is a recipient of the Maurice R. Hilleman Early-Stage Career Investigator Award from the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, and he is also an investigator in the Center for Childhood Immunizations and Vaccines at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In his free time, Crooke enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife and young daughter.

Favorite Tech Memory: Watching the Jackets defeat UGA in Athens (in overtime, no less!) circa 2014 has to claim the top spot!

Favorite Tech Memory: In 2007 for Easter, I led a team of 450 students to the Gulf Coast to build a playground and host an Easter Egg hunt.

Saira Draper is a civil rights attorney, nonprofit organization founder, and the state representative for Georgia House District 90. Throughout her career in law, politics, and public service, she has been dedicated to fighting for the rights of others. She developed an expertise in voting rights during the 2020 election cycle. She is a graduate of Georgetown Law, Georgia Tech, and Georgia’s public school system and served in the Peace Corps for two years, stationed in Honduras. She and her husband have three children.

Favorite Tech Memory: I’ll never forget the thrill of being a student during the 2004 NCAA Tournament. The excitement was electric!

Joe Gammie has spent his career leading innovation, revolutionizing the electric grid. Gammie has developed several microgrid programs powering more than 250,000 homes and has led numerous state-of-the-art projects across the U.S. and E.U., including the Georgia Tech Energy Lab. He holds an MBA from the Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech with a minor in Energy Systems.

Favorite Tech Memory: After upsetting Virginia Tech, singing the fight song with Bud Peterson and relocating a goal post to his front lawn.

Kate Gunderson is currently attending the National Test Pilot School through a flight test engineering fellowship. To pursue this opportunity, she left her dream job at NASA’s Johnson Space Center where she worked as an engineer and NASA’s youngest Flight Science Officer, supporting various astronaut training activities and airborne science missions flown all over the world. Gunderson holds a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a master’s in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech. She is a Boston-qualifying marathon runner and has a passion for empowering women to confidently thrive in STEM fields.

Favorite Tech Memory: Football games and the Tech traditions that made me feel like I belonged will remain some of my fondest memories.

Kate Henry, PE, is vice president/partner of Aulick Engineering, a woman-owned small business that provides engineering and construction management services for transportation projects. She earned a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with co-op designation from Georgia Tech. She has over 15 years of experience in the engineering industry. Henry serves on the Design Review Board and Housing Team for the City of Chamblee, as an Officer for Chapter A/GA, P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), and co-chair for her church Stewardship Committee. She was project manager for the 2021 Engineering Excellence State Award Winner for Transportation and one of “100 Influential Women in Engineering” by Engineering Georgia Magazine in 2021.

Favorite Tech Memory: Studying abroad, taking in beautiful sounds from the second row at the Wiener Staatsoper Opera House. It was the cultural experience of a lifetime!

Hundal’s expertise in computational analysis and her pioneering contributions to precision medicine have been widely recognized and published in top-tier scientific journals.

Prashant Khare is an associate professor and serves as the associate department head and program chair of aerospace engineering at University of Cincinnati (UC). He is an invitee to the National Academy of Engineering’s Frontiers of Engineering symposium, a recipient of the AIAA Outstanding Scientific Technical Contributions Section Award, Penn State College of Engineering’s “40 Under 40” Award (now called the Early Career Award), Penn State Mechanical Engineering’s Early Career Award, Sigma-Xi Young Investigator Award, ILASS’s W.R. Marshall Award, and UC Faculty Excellence Award, among other awards for his research and leadership. He is the cofounder of the Advanced Research Computing Center and the founder of the Hypersonics laboratory at UC.

Favorite Tech Memory: The rocket engine at the entrance of the Knight building and the wonderful lifelong friends I made at Georgia Tech.

She helped reduce food waste through IoT sensors, and she advocates for inclusion and diversity in the workplace as well as in the open water swimming community. She was a four-year letterwinner in swimming at Georgia Tech and the former president of the NorCal GT Alumni network.

Favorite Tech Memory: Standing on the 50-yard line as a finalist for Ms. Georgia Tech in fall 2009.

A Georgia Tech management graduate, he cofounded Winsipedia, a college football database website, and most recently founded Section 103, a licensed Georgia Tech apparel brand. He lives in Atlanta with his family, where he loves to play golf and attend Georgia Tech sporting events.

Favorite Tech Memory: Jumping out of my Alamodome seat and landing a row below when Will Bynum sent us to the championship game.

Kaibo Liu is a professor at UW–Madison’s ISyE department and associate director of UW-Madison IoT systems research center. He received a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and a master’s in statistics and PhD in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech. His research focuses on system informatics and industrial big data analytics for quality improvement in complex engineering systems. He has won prestigious career awards, including the Innovations in Education Award and the Award for Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Favorite Tech Memory: I cherish having earned two degrees in four years and having my first child during my Georgia Tech PhD program.

Mandavia currently serves as a member of OXOS Medical’s executive leadership team and as a close collaborator with the cofounder and CEO at OXOS Medical, where he leads all facets of strategy, corporate development, and growth. In his free time, Mandavia enjoys engaging in K–12 STEM outreach programs, traveling, skiing, playing golf, and exploring eateries, where he says he will inevitably overestimate his tolerance for spicy food.

Stuart Michelson is a member of the research faculty at the Georgia Tech Research Institute and is a subject matter expert in human systems engineering. Currently, he serves as a senior research scientist and branch head in the Human-Centered Engineering Division. Michelson is an instructor in Georgia Tech’s Professional Education Defense catalog and the sitting deputy chair of the National Defense Industrial Association’s Human Systems Division. His experience spans multiple professional associations and nonprofits, where he has supported and organized many military working groups spanning topics such as electronic warfare, unmanned systems, and military end user engagement.

Favorite Tech Memory: As a Georgia Tech legacy, bringing my elementary-aged sons to campus to see the places where their father and grandfather learned and taught.

Nassir Mokarram-Dorri, an associate professor of neurosurgery at Emory University, earned his PhD from Georgia Tech, where he pioneered the field of immunomodulatory biomaterials for neural tissue regeneration. Following his fellowship at Stanford Biodesign, he now leads a lab focused on novel therapies for brain tumors. Alongside his academic role, he serves as the CEO of Exvade Bioscience, a medical device startup that received FDA Breakthrough Designation for its innovative technology targeting malignant brain tumors. Additionally, he holds the position of executive director at the Emory BioFoundry Institute, aiming to bridge the translational gap between medical research and human application.

Four years later, RejuvenAir is on track to help the millions of patients suffering from the world’s third leading cause of death. Graduate classes in entrepreneurship sparked a strong interest in startups that launched him into a fast-paced career in VC-backed technology development.

Amanda Nummy is a senior polymer engineer in the automotive industry. Nummy also recently began biomimicry consulting in built environments, consumer products, and carbon capture technologies.

Favorite Tech Memory: I was involved in DramaTech theater. I loved getting to know people outside my major and having a creative outlet.

Lujendra Ojha is a planetary scientist and assistant professor of planetary sciences at Rutgers University. He gained widespread recognition for his discovery of Recurring Slope Lineae (RSL) on Mars, which are seasonal features that may indicate the presence of liquid water on the planet. Ojha’s groundbreaking discovery led to numerous media appearances, including interviews with major news networks and an article in Rolling Stone magazine. He has since published numerous papers in prestigious scientific journals, including Science and Nature Communications. Ojha is committed to advancing our understanding of planetary evolution and the potential for habitability beyond Earth.

Favorite Tech Memory: Midtown Tavern, seminars in the Ford ES&T Building, followed by midnight dinner at Waffle House on 5th street.

Today, he serves as COO at Mayvenn. He sits on several company boards, has become an angel investor in 10 companies through his fund, and has personally advised more than 30 startup founders. Pathak serves on the Forbes Business Council and as chair of the Woodruff Young Alumni Council. In 2023, Pathak was inducted into the Georgia Tech College of Engineering’s Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni.

With a law degree from Vanderbilt University, Powell was a litigation associate at another international law firm before joining WilmerHale. She served as a judicial law clerk for the Judge Evan J. Wallach of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Judge Gregory M. Sleet of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Powell maintains an active pro bono practice in Indigenous rights advocacy with an emphasis on environmental justice.

Favorite Tech Memory: Knowing my Papouli, who graduated from Georgia Tech in 1946, watched me ride the Ramblin’ Wreck onto the field when I was a Tech cheerleader.

Reframe also made Fast Company’s annual list of the “World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023.” Alongside his cofounder, Ziyi Gao, IE 17, he was awarded the Dean’s Impact Award from Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering Alumni Awards. He is a 2021 Y Combinator alumnus and currently lives in Atlanta.

Favorite Tech Memory: I met Ziyi at Georgia Tech, who became both my cofounder at Reframe and my partner in life!

Private Astronaut Mission Manager | NASA

Thilini Schlesinger is a private astronaut mission manager at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). Most recently, she was the NASA Mission Manager for the Axiom-2 mission. She has served as an ISS research portfolio manager for the International Space Station Program, deputy project manager of the Advanced Exploration System Logistics Reduction Project, and space shuttle flight controller in the Mission Control Center. While at Georgia Tech, she worked at JSC as part of the cooperative education program. She resides in League City, Texas, with her husband and three children. Schlesinger has had a passion for space exploration from an early age and is proud that she has fulfilled her dream at NASA.

Favorite Tech Memory: One of my favorite memories of Georgia Tech is meeting some of my best friends during my first week as a freshman. We were all assigned to the same dorm.

As cofounder, Sisk has helped steer SlateSafety to its current position as a promising leader in the industrial safety market. He is married and spends his free time with his family.

Favorite Tech Memory: My favorite memory was standing on stage and hearing that FireHUD won first place in the 2016 Georgia Tech InVenture Prize.

Since 2019 she has helped dozens of small businesses and entrepreneurs. Smith is a passionate advocate for women and underestimated founders. Through her work, she helps rethink and invent new ways to serve and support entrepreneurs from marginalized communities.

He also leads several initiatives that are part of Google’s Tech Equity Collective, a program accelerating Black representation and innovation in the tech industry. Previously, Treadwell led the Atlanta chapter of the Black Googler Network. Before Google, he worked at AT&T as a technical project manager.

Favorite Tech Memory: Spending three years living on campus in North Avenue Apartments and building lifelong memories with friends.

Kendall Tyson is the senior vice president of finance and business intelligence for the Seattle Kraken, the city’s professional ice hockey team. She oversees the strategic planning, data management, and financial affairs of the Kraken and its affiliates. Before joining the Kraken, Tyson led corporate development at Topgolf, where she evaluated mobile apps, entertainment venues, and golf technology. Earlier in her career, she advised state government agencies on business transformations as a management consultant at Accenture. In addition to her degree from Georgia Tech, Kendall holds a bachelor’s from Emory University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She currently resides in Seattle, Washington, with her husband and two children.

Favorite Tech Memory: Walking on the Great Wall of China while studying abroad in Beijing and Singapore.

He was recognized as a 2022 Georgia Tech College of Computing Rising Star as well as a 2022 Forbes’ “30 Under 30” honoree in the social impact category. Additionally, Woumn has been honored on the AFROTECH Future 50 list, which recognizes 50 rising titans in the tech industry.

Favorite Tech Memory: Being a finalist for Mr. Georgia Tech and having the opportunity to stand on the field at halftime with my mom.
